Empowering Youth Through Technology: Sinet Akih and the Upcoming Nang Health App

Youth2Youth

As adolescent health continues to be a pressing challenge in Cameroon, one young tech innovator is breaking new ground. Akih Sinet Akihduh, Youth2Youth Cameroon’s digital strategist and product lead, is leading the design and development of the Nang Health App, a first-of-its-kind mobile platform in Bamenda that promises to empower adolescents with vital sexual and reproductive health information.

Designing with Purpose

From the earliest sketches to interactive prototypes, Sinet has been steering Nang Health with a user-first approach. Drawing on his world-class expertise in product marketing, UI/UX design, and community engagement, he has ensured that every feature, from confidential advice to self-guided learning modules, is culturally relevant, intuitive, and engaging for young users.

“From day one, my goal has been to create an app that adolescents trust, that provides practical guidance, and that feels like it was designed for them, not just for the sake of technology,” Sinet explains.

Leading Community Engagement

Understanding that technology alone does not drive impact, Sinet has been taking Nang Health beyond the design studio. He has actively promoted the app at major tech gatherings across Bamenda, including Women Techmakers (WTM) meetups, coding bootcamps, and youth innovation fairs. These efforts have already connected the project to hundreds of young people, generating excitement and anticipation ahead of the app’s official launch.

“Seeing the curiosity and eagerness in the youth’s eyes reaffirmed why this work matters,” Sinet says. “Technology can answer questions that often go unasked, and it can empower adolescents to make informed decisions.”

A Vision for Lasting Impact

Even before launch, Nang Health has become a catalyst for conversation and innovation. Youth groups and peer leaders are already exploring ways to complement the app with their own initiatives, highlighting the ripple effect that strategic, user-focused tech can create.

Youth2Youth Cameroon’s leadership has recognized Sinet’s dedication, emphasizing that his vision and execution are not just preparing an app, they are shaping a generation of digitally empowered, health-conscious youth.

Looking Ahead

For Sinet, the launch of Nang Health is just the beginning. He continues to mentor emerging digital innovators, championing solutions that are user-centered, culturally informed, and community-driven.

“Our mission is simple,” Sinet shares. “Provide young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take charge of their health, and show them that technology can be a powerful ally in the process.”

With Sinet Akih at the helm, Cameroon’s youth can look forward to a digital health solution designed with them in mind, transforming information into empowerment, one app at a time.
